I recently started paying more attention to the engine, trans, and exhaust temperatures that Im reading off my pioneer head unit from the obd2. I just wanted to make sure they are still within proper ranges for the way its operated.

    Engine:
40 and below: 184F cruise (i have seen it go below 180 on cold winter days, down a hill)
    40-70F day: 186F cruise
    70 and above: 190F cruise

I have seen it get to 196F while climbing mountain passes, or when going fast off road (in 4th).

    Transmission:
    Auto w/ external cooler
I recently did 4 drain and refills in the span of 3 weeks, so the fluid is now brand new.

    40s and below: +-120F crusing.
50F day: 132-134F cruising freeway, light city driving
50-60F day: 150F (70mph up mountain pass), 155F city driving. 160F slow off roading.
70F+ day: 165F (about 20 mins after one or two donuts :D)

While going fast off roading, mainly up hills, I've seen it hit 165F on a 50F day. I know all these temps are still below the threshold of 175F, but I figure the lower the temp, the longer the transmission will last (fluid).

    Exhaust:
I'm not exactly sure where the EGT sensor is, but the temps here seem a little high, but then again I'm more used to diesel egts.

    Idle: 700-800F
    Cruising: 1000-1200F
    Acceleration: 1200-1400F
    Maxed out: 1536F

I'm not sure if the head unit tops out at 1536, I'll have to tweak some stuff to see if the exhaust is actually going higher.

The radiator is pretty clean, but I did just add a low profile bumper and winch, so I guess I'll see how much that affects my temps.

A lot of time quarantined, I'm guessing?

EGTs are just a lookup in a table of theoretical values, there is no egt sensor.

trans fluid temps are fine no need to over cool them.

Interesting, what other values does it pull from to estimate the egt?

Engine load and rpm are the two axis values used to determine what cell to look up in the component temperature tables. Let me get a pic from HPTuner.

If there is no EGT, any ideas why I’d get an EGT error code? (P0546)?
