Is there a write up on this? My og anytime caMera mod is starting to shit the bed.

I like those little LED light pods. Here is where I used 4 of them recently.

 

Thank you for that picture. I had a very short thought about using these as scene lights on the sides of my eventual roof rack but worried they wouldn’t have enough throw. They are a lot more impressive than I expected from license plate lights.

 

Took an overhead shot today.

 

I also installed a pair under my tailgate and tied them into my reverse lights. This helps to illuminate the hitch at night.

 

I loved mine. huge improvement! butttttt now they don't touch!

 

I thought you had a bike rack mounted on your roof rack before my brain caught up and realized it was hitch mounted on the Subaru.

 

Installed door sill protectors.....crazy how these things are not stock. They were on my 2011. Anything to save a few dollars I guess.

 

The sill protectors did come stock on my 2017 TRD OR.

 

Must be new for 2020.

 

They are generally a dealer or port installed item. Some trucks have em, some dont.

 

Honestly it sounds like the "isolator" feature failed allowing the house battery to discharge the truck battery. I've been over on the MFG's site and talked to the owner and they are still selling the system with no warnings. Have or did you try to resolve the issue with the company?

I haven't bolted it down fully yet as I'm waiting to stain and seal it but I suppose it could be a good idea to run a bead of silicone around it once it's bolted in place. I also used 1/2" plywood which is way too thick (and a little heavy) but it's what I had laying around. It still goes down slow when I open it so I guess it's not an issue.

Pedal Commander device review: So I installed it yesterday and it does improve the throttle lag. I still notice a tiny bit of lag but it is shortened greatly and when past the lag the truck responds nicely. I am running Sport +3 at the moment. Left it out so I could try different settings. It has made me not frown every time I push the accelerator down now.

 

For sure, I think it's definitely important to make people aware of the way our alternators work on the 3rd gen and what that means for running agm batteries.

I'm a bit curious about your setup though. Do you have 2 identical batteries of the same age and size or are they different? Also, do you have any accesories in your truck that may be sipping on power? The reason I ask is, 2 identical batteries of the same age wired in parallel would balance each other out and sit at the same voltage.

If you have your accessories (like a fridge) wired to the auxillary battery, and that auxillary battery is not being properly charged, then when the 2 batteries get linked it's going to pull charge from the starter battery to try and balance things out. This could lead to you not being able to start the truck if that balance gets too low. In your case though it sounds like you were able to link the aux battery back to the starter battery and start your truck, which means it was your starter battery not being fully charged.

The point I'm trying to make is, no matter if you have a single or dual battery agm setup, you'll need to top it off periodically or install solar or a dc to dc charger.(Might also be able to replace the alt with an aftermarket one but don't quote me on that) It's not really a problem of having a dual battery setup, but just having agm in the first place with these alternators.
