Lifted, exhaust, sound system, tint, rims, wheels.
I have an 05 doublecab and I noticed that whenever it rains my carpets on the passenger front and rear side get extremely wet to the point I need to take many towels to just soak up some of the water. My truck has since smelled like mildew for a while now so I recently took the seats and center console out and ripped up the carpet, taking the old wet auto jute off to replace. Does anyone have any recommendations for something to put back where the old auto jute is? Something waterproof potentially? I’m looking into some sound deadening stuff also potentially. Or if anyone knows how the water is coming in that’d be helpful as well. I feel like there’s been times the truck has sat in rain and it’s fine but for some reason when I drive it in rain or water the carpet gets soaked. Thanks for the help!!

Possibly coming in from under the wiper cowl and going into the heater box. Check to see if your cabin filter is wet .

This happened to my '12 for a while. First I thought it was clogged ac drain, turned out to be the cowl cover

While you have the carpet out check out the seam between the footwell and fender. It's sealed with some type of body adhesive. Mine had a split in it and would leak when I drove in the rain or through water. Since it's hidden by the carpet I liberally applied more seam sealer/adhesive and haven't had the problem return for about 2 years now.
