This was mine at idle. It didn’t get up into the 13s at higher rpm, but never the high 13s or 14s.

This is why I am installing a solar panel to supplement the alternator.

What is your Alternator Output Duty Ratio % at idle?

As far as chargers go, what are people using with the Odyssey? I have two Odyssey PC1400 (cant remember the group #) and I know they are not getting what they need until I get the solar panel hooked up (already have it just havent gotten it mounted).

Don't. A dual purpose battery sure. Deep cycle batteries don't like the sharp power demands the starter will place on it. Starting batteries don't like to be drained like a deep cycle. They do make dual purpose batteries though. I think having one of each would be better.

I use this charger for my X2Power (rebranded Northstar) Group 31 AGM. It's been great so far.

    Uhhhhhh.....no. That’s incorrect...

If you want to use water as an analogy, current would be analogous to the volume of water, and the voltage is analogous to the drop in height of the water which causes it to flow. Without this potential (height) difference, no flow would occur regardless of the volume.

If you want work to be done, (watts, hp) it takes both voltage and current. You can stick a water wheel in a large stagnant stream, but it won’t turn and generate power. The water has to flow, and this is created by the difference in height as it moves downstream.

Large, fast moving stream = lots of work gets done
Small, fast moving stream = little work gets done
Large, slow moving stream = little work gets done

I couldnt say except to say that that picture was taken at idle. Id have to be honest and say that I am not familiar with the term "Alternator Output Duty Ratio %".

I did take an interstate drive in to work this morning just to get out of the stop and go traffic to see if some higher RPMs and sustained RPMs would boost it. The readout on my display never broke 13.0.

I just pulled out the trusty ole owners manual for my battery (I verified it is a Group 35) and it pointed me to, of course, the Odyssey charger. But, as much as these batteries are Id rather not have any potential for getting the wrong one and surely they know best how to charge their own batteries. So, I went ahead and got one to have until I can get my solar set up complete and then as a back up for when it is needed. Obviously it has the reconditioning function as well so I guess it cant be a bad thing to have.

This is the one I ordered:

As many as I can fabricate
I use a battery tender for the racecar and golf cart and eventually the house battery.

    Also;
A battery group size is an industry-standard for car batteries that indicates the actual, physical size for a car battery (height x width x length), as well as the polarity (where the positive and negative battery posts are located on the battery)

OK, thanks for that. What is it? Where is it found? I promise you won't get charged by the word.

I am an apple guy and I use the OBD Fusion that was mentioned earlier. Tons and tons of stuff you can do with it.
