It can go either way but 4x need a 16" due to the longer eyelet. An 18" will cause too much preload due to clearance with the 90* hose fitting. Realistically there are too many variables to give a definitive answer but that was my experience. I guess if you run a 600# spring with the intent of running a little bit of preload you might be able to get away with it.

My dirt king kit came with 600# 16s. I ended up swapping out to a 550# 18.

Have you tried 16” 700#? If so how do the setups compare?

    @99GC8 & others:

Here’s what my camburg kit looks like compressed at bump, drooped out, and at ride height.

Fox’s, and I got them from camburg directly, so they should be a 16” 600lb spring.

I have almost no preload on them though, as I have spindles that provide most all my front height.

I think DMZ basically still gets the most positive customer feedback - @Tacomoto23 swapped his camburg kit for a DMZ and was happy with it on his last truck.

So happy with it that I bought another DMZ Kit for my current truck. Which the kit is now for sale if you’re interested!

DMZ Tim has excellent customer service and is willing to take the time to answer any questions

I went from 600 to 700 and i love it, they handling a lot better with my heavy beast. If you have roll now it will properly get rid of it. worth the try. It actualy rides better off road then I thought it would. I dont bottom out as easy.

Ha I can’t believe I forgot about the DMZ kit. I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. Plus DMZ fab is only a few miles from me.

Current setup is archive hangers and longest shackle option. Which I like it, I think it’s great for spring over, and the ride is great. But I’m looking for a Spring under setup that I’ll be able to fully cycle my 14” bypasses. With stock front hangers and the 4.9” shackle there aren’t any spring options that I can confirm will droop out fully. And for the price of a deaver spring and the conversion, I can easily bolt-off and sell the archive setup to be out at close to the same price as buying a kit.

Nice, thanks for the tag btw. Curious what issues were with the camburg kit? I don’t hear many people talk about it and perhaps that’s why. I’m liking the DMZ better plus maybe I can have Tim do the install since he’s out of corona.

You’re SOA with 4.9” shackles? How much up travel do you have from the bottom of the frame to the bump?

I don’t know where you are located but there is a spring under dmz kit on craigslist in los angeles. 1500$ been there a Minute. Springs, shakles, and hangers. You will need the u bolt and
Bottom plate and axle perch to weld on.

I went through a set of bushings on the hanger in less than 3k miles. When I disassembled the kit, the hangars were noticeably not square. I brought it to their attention and they said it was within spec... I replaced the bushings with delrin that they made. Haven't had the chance to pull them apart and check the condition of them. On the list of things to do.

Pshh yeah that’s not supposed to happen. Bolt on or not, it’s unacceptable for them to not be square out of the shop.
I gotta look again, but off the top of my head I think I have somewhere between 5 - 5 1/2“ of up travel to the frame. I’m still on Dakars, which are shorter than most leafs.

Yea I posted previously on one of these threads ranting about it. That was on top of having to go drive to camburg three or four times before actually being able to talk to someone that was involved in the fabrication and knew what they were talking about.

That's a bummer... Would you be willing to share what this person in fabrication had to say about alignment?

They didn't have any fabbed at the time. He took his time to tell me how they have people and trucks that have thousands of miles on them in a single set of bushings though. Came back the next week and he said they all were that crooked and mine were in tolerance.
It kinda dumb struck me that they were making something that wasn't square and they were ok with it
