I am rebuilding a wrecked 2016 wrecked Tacoma Sport with airbag deployment. I have heated seats with cloth interior. Not knowing the difference, in the beginning, I purchased take-off OEM seat covers off of eBay but they were not for heated seats. The only difference I can see is the seat cover does not have the little tabs to fasten the heater element to like my originals. Anyone have any experience with this and my thinking is it shouldn't make a difference I just need to find a way to attach the heating element so they don't move.

I’ve seen the heater pads glued to the seat foam on Fords

I have Carhart covers and the OEM seat heaters still get very hot.

My solution was to glue the tabs of the heater pads to the seatback foam using a hot melt glue gun. I also used a hot melt glue gun to repair the seatback foam where the airbag tore it during deployment. I then taped that seam with chemtape. I should have taken a picture.
