I just bought a 2015 TRD Off Road with 33” tires and I’m curious if it has a lift. I’ll post some picks. 66k miles, I’m very happy with the purchase. I’m not sure if 20” rims will just bolt up to a stock truck. It has LED DRL and remote start, so I figure there may be a lift. I’ll let you experts tell me. Thanks for letting me join!

Yes. You have a spacer lift on the front. On the back, we’d need photos of the springs at the rear axle to determine if there is a block or added leaf.

If you stay on pavement, a spacer will work. They aren’t favored though on here. If you go off road or plan on hitting speed bumps at speed, a proper suspension lift would be best.

    Welcome to TW!
I'm no expert, but you do have what appears to be a 1" to 1-1/2"(?) spacer on top of your front coil, so your lift is roughly twice that amount. Measure that spacer and then double it.
Take a pic of where the rear leaf pack bolts to the axle, and TW can tell you what you're working with in the back.

Not the greatest pic, but I can see the block in the leaf springs.

There’s a block. Again, not the best because they cause spring wrap

edit: they’re ok for on road but you want to take it easy on things like speed bumps.

Yes, but that slang phrase wasn’t around in the mid 80’s. I was a fat kid in high school and someone called me Twinkie. I’m happily married. Guess I should have given more thought to a user name.... lol. Thank you all for the input. I love this truck!!

So, with this type of lift, is it bad to try to take it off road? If so, what type of lift is preferred? This is my first 4wd. All my other Tacoma’s were 2wd.

Yes, it’s not ideal to take off road. The issue is that the shock can bottom out and break. That would be a bad day on the trail as the assembly holds the front end up. Broken shock will result in sitting on the bump stop. Consider an aftermarket shock and spring which gives lift without the bottoming out issue. There’s quite a few vendors here but @HeadStrong Off-Road is a good place. Marie will make suggestions based on your needs and price.
