Kydex comes today. Im boycotting Amazon until the covid blows over. I could have had so many things on prime, and projects done sooner, but they set their shipping bar so low.

if anyone is ordering things, check ebay or an actual online store first. So many of the similar things available elsewhere.

I just ordered an "amazon awning" on ebay, and saved a few $ too. Should be shipping soon. Or at least ebay told me guaranteed delivery by 4/23.. so we shall see.

 

Now I feel dumb. I looked at the extensions and couldn't originally process that it would work for my application.

Its not Amazon, its all the dumb dumbs hoarding TP, face masks, and other items due to all the stuff going on right now

Either way, I'm likely going to be cancelling my prime membership before the next time it renews if these shipping times don't start turning around. It's not a FU to Amazon, it's just the only reason I have prime in the first place is for 2 day shipping. Take that away and it becomes a waste of money to keep the subscription.

 

I agree. But im not going to cancel just yet. How about they bring back prime, and up shipping speed for essentials, to 1 day

 

Absolutely. I've been saying this whole time that they kinda owe prime members some sort of credit or something. My membership renews in September, so hopefully by then they are back up to speed, but if not it's the ol chopping block.

Same, I've been utilizing eBay if Amazon is more than a week lead time. eBay is getting most stuff to me in 3 business days. Prime is definitely feeling like a waste right now, but I know it is temporary.... Hopefully.

 

Setup is now complete, although I plan to go nature camping, I will be doing a lot of pit camping. Ready for the race track!!!

 

I think they list the ship times as delayed for non-essentials and prioritize the essential stuff but if the system is not overloaded the non-essential gets shipped. I ordered something in March that had a delivery date in late April and got it in 2 days.

 

Super low bar. I just ordered something on ebay on Thursday, and its coming Tuesday..

My experience seems like Kydex is good. Have to figure out another way to hold it without zip ties, but seems like a good idea.

Yeah, just a heat gun. I ordered on Amazon, but previous conversations show that we shouldn't. I ordered a 3 pack of 12x12 for $25

But you should be able to find it on ebay and get it sooner. Took 2 weeks for me

I believe to protect the paint on the bars from the tracks on the tent?

 

Yea Kydex to protect paint. I didn't powdercoat my rack. I dont take the tent on and off that often, but this should protect it some

 

@MountainManGuy so if my awning doesnt come by Thursday.. then something will happen, according to ebay. I dont know what yet. Im sure their customer service isnt as good as Amazon. But it hasnt shipped yet.
