I bought my 2019 SR5 from Lugoff Toyota here in SC. I used TrueCar buying program and it went really smooth. There are many dealers out there. They were all sending me lower prices I just waited till the one I wanted was the price I thought was fair. ($30K new out the door)

EXACTLY!!! I tried as hard as I could to come up with one time I could possibly need a 4x4 in SoCal. I literally do nothing that would need it. I have multiple friends who have owned their 4x4 offroads as long or longer than I have. They have not touched their 4x4 once, let alone crawl control. I move back east though?? Sport is getting sold and I’ll pick up an off-road

Hmmm I might have to go there tomorrow and check some of them out. Quite a bit closer to be than Charlotte. Maybe they'll make a good deal for me.

Did you get one like this? If I got this one I think all I'd need to do is the grill and tires to make it looks how I want it to.

I went SR5. My plan was to heavily modify eventually with full suspension lift, tires and re gear. If you're planning to lift down the road i'd just go SR5 to save some money for modding and get a newer vehicle!

$30k OTD for a 4x4 SR5 would be an AMAZING deal. Don't pass that up, who's offering that?

Just went and test drove one at the local dealer. They tried to sell me on it hard which was a little annoying but I do like the way it drove. It was an SR5 they had online for 33,700. I think it has a few options like NAV which I don’t care about and something else but it’s still the base model. They tried to rip me off and sell to me for more than it even shows online like almost 35k plus taxes and a dealer fee but at least I got to drive it. Maybe another dealer will be less rip offy just gotta find one.

Sample price for a new SR5 V6 Auto in the Houston area. Good luck with your search.

    Do dealers not come
Down any on Tacoma’s? Just wondering because maybe they get bought up too much to go down that much on price.

I followed this thread when I bought mine. I emailed every Toyota dealer in the state and was able to get them to negotiate and under bid each other all over email. In the end, I printed out my quote, drove to the dealer picked up my car and drove home. It was awesome and I got a GREAT deal. Took some work, but in the end it was worth it. I'd check it out

I know it's not new but is this one bad? Price seems to be what they are going for around me or even less. I know it's old though and not 4x4. I really don't understand how the top trim is not a 4x4 but I don't need it anyways.
    Any thoughts?

That seems like a good deal to me depending on financing. Very very low mileage for the year, I would be interested in that for sure if it was 4x4, but you get everything else.

Only thing I’m worried about is transmission shifting issues like I’ve been reading about. I heard the 2020 is fixed unless they came out with some kind of update that has fixed all of the years since 2016

Ahh, I can say that on my 18 at least, no shifting issues but on the early model years in think it was worse (from reading on here at least). They did put put a TSB for the earlier model years meant to address that.

I would say go new, then you know how its been driven and you also get the full warranty from toyota too.
