BUYER BEWARE: 3rd Gen Plug-N-Play Tailgate Bolt-N-Lock & Tailgate Bolt-N-Open

I have an ultimate kit for sale if anyone is interested. Sold the Tacoma and never got around to installing.

 

Definitely can make this happen if this is what it looks like. Although it would be slightly different than this...



You would substitute the KTJO Lock-Unlock for the OEM. Therefore, it would be like I mentioned on my thread:

1) First, you would purchase the Add-On Kit off my website www.ktjo4x4.com mentioning in the comment section that you have the OEM Tailgate Lock Kit. Therefore, you would get my KTJO OEM PNP Harness that would give you the needed connections in order to hookup the KTJO/DSIM Opener Mod.

2) You would plug that into your Passenger Side Kick Panel Area. Then you would plug your OEM Kit PNP Harness into mine or vice versa. As long as the OEM Kit PNP Harness is just straight wires and nothing is crazy with their harness like wires switching And crossing paths, you could plug mine into theirs and it wouldn’t matter.

3) You wouldn’t mess with your Tailgate Lock-Unlock Connections at all. You’d leave them connected to your OEM PNP Harness howeverToyota has them connected. What would be different with your Kit is that I would send you my Tailgate Lock Integrated Harness which is only Two Wires instead of sending you the Tailgate Opener Integrated Harness which is Four Wires. With you already having the Lock-Unlock hooked up to the other PNP Harness, we are only needing to connect the Opener side Actuator with the Blue and Green Wire that you see in this diagram here.



4) This step would be to connect the wires. So you would take your Opener Actuator from the Add-On Kit you purchased from me, and connect the Green Wire to the Purple Wire on the Tailgate Opener Module V2 and the Blue Wire to the Black Wire on the KTJO OEM PNP Harness. Now if I get enough of you interested in the Tailgate Opener, I’d rather just make a Custom PNP Wire Harness like I have for the Opener Integrated Harness and change out the Wire Color half way to help you guys out which I might do anyways tbh so there’s no confusion. It would be kind of like this to give you an idea from the Opener Harness



5) The final step would be for you to connect the last three wires from the KTJO PNP Harness directly time the Tailgate Opener Module V2. So you have Red goes to Red, Black goes to Black, and Green goes to Green. You would technically have two wires remaining on my PNP Harness due to the fact that you wouldn’t be using the Green and Blue wire for the Tailgate Lock. (Don’t worry, you could always use those for another mod that will be released )

THE END

So that’s how you would convert it to make the Opener work with the OEM Tailgate Lock Kit.

Got it done today. Took about 3 hours and went together well. Works great!

 

I have the lock/unlock/opener kit and it works flawlessly and I love it. But I would like to hook up the push button opener but I have a manual transmission. Can anyone tell me how to hook this up since I do not have a Park sensor to tap into or will this feature will not work on a MT. Thanks.

 

I have had this system on my work bench for some time. Last weekend I finally had time to hook it up. I can’t believe I had this awesome system sitting around so long and never took the time to hook it up. What an added option this is. Thank you for making this kit. Now I just need to make some more time to install my DSIM module and button. Yes, I have those parts too. On the work bench. I hope there’s enough wire for the switch to install left of the steering wheel. I ordered a MESO switch plate for that cubby. Three small switch plate. Puddle light switch, Tailgate switch, and front and rear camera switch. The creative members on here are just impressive. Well done. Thank you. @DSIM @MESO @KJTO 4x4

 

Can someone explain how the Tailgate opener complete full package (approx. $154 on website) function? How many times do you press the key fob to lock/unlock. How many times do you press the key fob to auto open the tailgate? Do they unlock and open simultaneously? Is something else needed for the auto open function?

 

Do you have to complete package in stock ready to ship? Looking for a project since im stuck at home for another month @KTJO 4x4

 

You press the key fob three times to open the tailgate. You press the key fob twice to open the passenger doors. You press the key fob once to open just the drivers door. You can purchase one of my ultimate packages and you will get everything included one-stop-shop or you can purchase just my tailgate opener and then go over to DSIMs website and purchase the module and harness from his site depending on if you want the in cab switch or not.

I just purchased and installed your kit, is there any way to have the lock function be on three clicks of the lock and the unlock be on three as well ? Will the dism module do this ? Thank you

The DSIM module is on the three unlock. It won’t be on the lock as that is reserved for automatic starters.
