    **UPDATE****

So I air downed the tires to 20 psi when I was on the beach.. kept them down for the weekend because we were on and off the beach so much. Anyways long story short, with the tires aired down to 20 psi I made a sharp left turn at very low speed in the grass and the sidewall knows from the tire grabbed a hold of my factory front skid plate and ripping the corner of the skid plate up. And now I am noticing some very slight rubbing on the upper A-arms. I am wondering if I upgrade to the Bilstein 5100s if that will help

I just mounted 265/70-r17 BFG KO2 tires on Method “Double Standard” (silver finish) wheels today.

    I have a 2017 TRD Sport/Access cab 4wd.

Same report: a very slight - nearly “imaginary” rub on the flaps, only heard very faint and quickly “gone” again...only during fuller steering ops at low speed, as in parking or sharp wheel cuts. I barely notice it even when trying to hear it.

I have no lift yet (but considering a 2” block in front to level it up - since I have AoL’s in rear).

I was concerned before replacing my wheels as well - and even though I measured several points using the new tire specs - I also queried this post beforehand. I don’t tolerate rub at all and didn’t want to have to deal with it.

However this rub is so minor - and seldom heard.... even “I”- can live with it -?as long as this is the worst case. Its that insignificant.

BTW- This forum is the bomb for info. So glad to be among the 3 generations of Taco owners.

    UPDATE 12/2/17:

Hate to be such a a dork but the honeymoon’s over. A liitle more driving and miles of cliser examination revealed that these 265/70’s rub enough to move me to corrective action.

I discovered the rub was only happening on the left side. The wheel contacted the edge of the plastic valance. I concluded that the valance is shifted slightly to the left in its installation.

Since it is held on by many of those cheesey plastc fasteners, I decided to just delicately trim off the offending edge. So I used tape and a precision jigsaw to accurately trim about 1/4” off of the vertical edge of the left end of the valance. This totally cured the issue - and you can’t tell it was cut, either.

I may buy Bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks in future, but that will be for leveling. This immediate problem is resolved.

I just bought pro comp wheel and put on my 08 tacoma 4x4 its 265/70/17 I have 3" leveling kit and 2" in the back I also put spidertrax 1.5" I was hundred percent sure it would fit with no problems. I was wrong! It rubs front and back. I had to cut about an 1" on my bumper and take out my mud guard and trim a little in the back. 15873487512134796512899214177630.jpg 15873487512134796512899214177630.jpg
