Hello All, I'm a noob here and I have a goal to turn this...

Into something that looks like this...

With a heavy emphasis on dry camping on BLM land otherwise known as BOONDOCKING.
As projects go, I'm pretty sure this has been done before only, not by me. Needed items will be solar power, generator and water, lots of water. The scamp, in the deluxe model, weighs in at 2900lbs with a 400lb tongue weight dry. So, I start with my basic information. My owners manual says my truck will handle a 3500lb trailer and the decal inside my drivers side door says this...

Now armed with this information I want to know what my real life baseline measurements are so I go here...

I park my truck with the front tires on the front pad on the scales and my rear tires on the middle pad, there are 3 pads total at this scale unit. I use this communication panel to signal the attendant inside the truck stop...

She basically comes on the intercom and asked me if I was ready and I said I was. I had 3/4 tank of gas and me sitting in the drivers seat. When she was done, she told me she had a good weight. I then drove over and paid the lady $11.00US for this...

Well now I have a beginning. I'm working with a truck with a GVWR of 5600lbs and I'm already at 4320lbs. Everything I add from here on out has to be essential. I intend to keep a 500lb cushion so I can add only another 780lbs to this truck and another 500lbs to the trailer. The equipment needs to be properly placed so the loads weights are properly distributed remembering the max allowance for each axel. The trailer axel is rated for 3500lbs. Wish me luck guys, this should be fun.

Very interested in your project! How is it going, any progress? I have the same truck and I'm looking into buying a TT someday soon. I currently tow a pop up weighing about 1700lbs and the truck tows it like it's nothing.
