I've hunted through google but can't seem to find out what Maint. could be required at precisely 19.6k mileage...the maint list is quite long and the dealer i'm going through is NOT a toyota dealer so I'm hesitant to request this get checked out...as they are out of state and could easily 'reset' the light and say 'it's fine.'

Truck is only a year old...should I worry? It's obviously under warranty still so I'm definitely taking it to toyota once it's delivered for an inspection..regardless.

    Thanks in advance

Did you change your oil at 10k miles? Could be your oil change reminder coming up.

You do know this light comes on 5,000 miles after being reset, right?

Did your truck not come with a user manual?

    Mods? Yes.
IIRC it says maint required "soon" 500 miles before the 5k mark since last reset

I don't own the truck yet...the deal is pending. I did read that the light comes on every 5k miles and also read through the online pdf manual. Thanks for the quick responses guys.

For 20k its just gonna be an oil change and a tire rotate.

Take a deep breath and relax. Nothing wrong with the truck, it just means the truck's last service was done about 400 miles early. Nothing to be concerned with and honestly might be a good thing. Sounds like someone took it in to be serviced as soon and the "maintenance required soon" light came on, which is about 500 miles before the "maintenance required" light comes on

@Amanelot Thank you so much for that, man. My first time buying out of state so I'm being overly cautious and supremely hyper-focused on the details.

Ah. Worth checking to see how dark the oil is.Might as well change it yourself once you buy though anyway. That way you know what went in it and when.

Nothing wrong with that! And it sounds like you're getting an extended test drive which is great! If you like the way it drives, then you should definitely buy one. These are solid, long lasting trucks

The maintenance light turns on for each 5000 mile interval service 500 miles before the 5000 mile mark and has to be reset but does not necessarily turn on every 5, 10, 15, 20k, etc miles. I did my 15k service at 17k miles and just did my 20k service two weeks ago but no maintenance light was on.
