    *** Update: I have now installed Bilstein 650lb springs and love it!

    Below are some measurement notes I emailed to myself.
    ===============
    August 2017
    Bilstein 6112 & 5160 + AAL & Overload leaf.
    Front driver side: 21" initial > 24" right after > 23.25" after about 2 weeks
    Front passenger: ..?.. initial > ..?..right after > 23.5" after about 2 weeks
    Rear driver: 22" initial > 25" right after > 24.5" after about 2 weeks
    Rear passenger: ..?.. initial > ..?.. right after > 24.75" after about 2 weeks
    ===============
    June 2018
    After two weeks with King 700lb springs, 6112 on notch #4, HD Dakar full leaf pack + Overload leaf
    Front driver/Middle of hub to fender: 24” on driver side and 24.5” on front passenger)
    Rear driver side & passenger side/Middle of hub to fender: 26” on both
    ===============
    Few months after July 2018: I revisited the shop again to increase the notch from 4 > max 6th because the 33s tire was rubbing a tiny bit when going over a dip and the rake as little too much with the HD Dakar + Overload leaf. Kept the 700# coil (700lb spring) and kept the 1/4” spacer on the driver side.
    ===============
    Today April 20, 2020 - it’s been about/over 1.5 years later on this setup (6112 at max 6th height + 700lb coils).
    Measurements as of today 4/20/20:
    Front driver side/passenger side, hub to fender: about 25” for both, maybe give or take 1-2cm.
    Rear passenger side/hub to fender: little over 26”
    Rear driver side/hub to fender around: 25.5” (not sure why this is sitting about 1" less than the rear passenger side).
    ===============
    The ride is not ideal because i don’t have the proper after market weights (armors) in the front. I have added a slider few months ago and it seems to have helped a very tiny bit or maybe it's just all in mind :crazy: . I keep wanting to replace the 700# with a 650# but then i think about adding armors instead. Lately just don't wanna spend any more money (than I’ve already spent on suspension, wheels, tires, ReGear 5.29 & more) and just trade-in for Tundra TRD Pro in few years for the roomy interior for the fam and V8!
    With all that said, the ride is definitely & noticeably better when theres someone riding next to me in the front passenger seat!
    Alright that's all the ramblings for today. :hattip:

    Some pictures I took just now:

    Thanks Jared. I did order extended length center pins and center pin head extenders to go with any shims I might need. I had to cut the center pin that came with the 1/2” shim, I’m sure it will be too short to use now. These are the pins I ordered from headstrong. How do they compare to the extension ring you’re talking about?

    Yes, those are the ones I was talking about. The only thing is that the block would have to go down first, then the shim, then the leaf. If you wanted any help I would be more than happy to help you with it.....if you were willing to drive to MA anyway.

    Thanks man. I should be fine to do this by myself. Hope quarantine is treating you well. Can’t wait for this to all be over to go wheeling again. You should come on the next ENH run with me too.

    Depending on the date and whether or not I am on call or have childcare.....yeah, unfortunately a lot of factors there....how long is it and where does it go?

    They’re just day trips. Southern NH usually. Nothing planned yet but next time one comes up I’ll let you know about it.

    These are 700lb coils on 6 both sides. But my truck is a heavy pig. 5680lbs without me in it.

    Got my rear emu md leaf installed now I need that extra 1/2” front. 650lb coils or notch both side 6112 to 6/6 plus 1/4 or 1/2 top spacers?

    2” rake. Can’t tell but I’m 40.5” rear and 38.5” front ground to fender notch 6/5 stock 600lb coil.

    what best 650lb coil? should I get eibach, wheelers, kinda dig the blue king’s.

    None of the 3, get the matching 650lb bilstein spring and keep your warranty. I have the 650lb in mine and love it with bumper, skid trio, and sliders.

    I am running both on the 4th notch but I have a 2nd gen. Are you planning armor? Keep in mind that the leafs will settle a little after adding and taking out weight in the rear. In all honesty, your truck looks good as it sits now. Raising the front might give you bro lean in the future. Are you having any rubbing issues?

    Sounds like you may have already bought everything, but don't shim until you know you need to. When I had stock leafs + AAL I had vibrations from the rear. When I swapped out that setup for the EL095R Dakars the vibes went away. No shims needed, no issues since.

    I won't. I ordered 2, 2.5, and 3 degree shims just in case though. Figure I can always sell them or just hang onto them, they weren't terribly expensive. It seems a lot of people with Dakars don't get vibrations. Someone told me that ARB purposely angles their leafs where it sits atop the axle to duplicate what a shim does, but I've never been able to confirm that.

    Not positive on those claims, but you're moving in the right direction. Good luck!

    no rubbing issues No armor, probably another 2 years. I did have a bro lean I’m on notch 6 driver and 5 passenger with 1/4 Headstrong top plate. Passenger is still 1/8” higher on notch 5

    Current setup SCS 17x9 -38 wheels, 285/75-17 tires, spc uca positive 3.8 degree casters, 6112/5160 stock 600 coils and rear Dakar MD leaf

    This looks great and a very similar set up to what I plan to run. How do you feel the ride is compared to the stock off-road? I am hoping for something firmer but not completely destroy ride quality. I am about to order the 6112s and trying to decide what notch to set them on. I have a Wheelers 3 leaf AAL already. Currently have SCS SR8s -10 w/ 265/70s. Plan to go w/ SPC or JBA UCAs and maybe move to the -38 SCS wheels w/ a 285. Have to trim much? Thanks, your truck looks good and very similar to how I plan to set mine up.

    compared to stock, love it. Stock was too spongy, too many nose dives. 6112 will eliminate all that! Way firmer on the road less body roll. Offroad tons of flexing outstanding and comfortable ride, tho I have durobump stops and rear Timbren active offroad bumpstops. So it absorbing most of on and off-roading.

    Yep -38 offset requires Major CMC is done, pinchweld done, slight inner fender well trimming but instead I did a bumper cut out, for the style, better approach angle etc.

    285/75R17 also, but on the FJ/4Runner trail wheels. I rub frame on full lock, full stuff bouncing on the rocks. Otherwise its fine.

    That's actually not all that heavy. My 2020 DCLB OR will likely weigh around 6700 pounds by the time I'm done with it. There's a 3rd gen Tacoma somewhere on this site that weighs 7800 pounds and with no problems for years. Of course, you need to have the right suspension upgrades to handle that weight, but it's certainly being done. Fact is, almost every truck you see with a camper on it is way over its GVWR.
