I haven't mentioned it yet I don't think! Thank you! We are due in September. We had some trouble and have literally been trying 4-5 years, didn't want to do any special stuff, big believer in "if it is meant to, it will". Turned out we just had to wait and practice a lot

    But we are VERY excited!

Luckily in the world of baby making, practice ain’t a bad thing! Haha. It’s funny in school we learned that between 25-33% of couples either have fertility obstacles or lose a pregnancy. It seems so taboo in the real world and everyone acts like they bang once and pop out a baby haha. I’m happy for you two though, that’s awesome.

Thanks! Yeah, after trying for like a year or two without much luck we got tested and everything came back healthy and able, after like 4 years I completely gave up, and then of course, it happened.

I'd also say, a majority of my friends, even with kids, had miscarriages at some point. Some have even had one in between each kid.

Congratulations! That's exciting news. I wish you all the best. My MIL doesn't live that close, but she's close enough to where she came over very frequently and watched the kids for us and it was a blessing. She's similar, not nosy and lets us live our lives. I can't even begin to tell you how much money it saved us. It allowed my wife to go back to work knowing our kids were in great hands (not saying day cares aren't like that, just seemed more comforting with family).

This. One reason I never had children is I prefer to avoid day care, although my parents would have been willing back then

    Congrats on the baby!

So true. My wife and I had a hell of a time of about 5 years (since we got married). All those rounds of IVF and IUI were brutal especially mentally for her. It's tough we still been practicing but nothing so far. So after the last round of IVF we called it quits. Looked into adoption but that is another mind f*** of stuff. Need a break from all this so now we are planning trips. Though, the current situation has put damper on that. We have a trip to Croatia lined up mid August for our 5 year anniversary but that will most likely be cancelled. Oh well, we have our 2 dogs and our health. That's all that matters at this point.

Having access to the family network is 80% of why we ended up back in MA. We both loved the south, but our parents are from the same town, and we knew if we wanted help and our kids to know their grandparents we had to come back up north. I think it will 100% be worth it.

It took us 4, so you never know. The wife has a few friends that have done the IVF and your wife is a tough lady for going through that. Hopefully you are able to get away and get your mind off of things. We also were thinking about adoption, but we don't know if we want more than 1 kid, so any of those plans are on hold for now. It seems a very complicated process these days though.

Good luck! We have 5 dogs, and there is a lot of joy in them everyday, you are right to appreciate that!

    Congrats!!
I’ve found having kids to unexpectedly be my favorite adventure!!
Smart move with the MIL, we’ve been talking about “circling the wagons” over here and getting the parents and in-laws situated.

Neither one of us are really rugrat people. We've discussed it a few times but we haven't really wanted to. If she were to get pregnant, we'd keep it. But at this point we're still actively trying not to have kids, lol.

Congratulations! I have a friend who tried unsuccessfully for years with her husband and eventually they stopped trying, but weren't trying not to conceive. Then out of the blue, a night out for dinner and a scorpion bowl or two, wham, now they've got the cutest daughter.

Babies and pregnancy are definitely never usually to plan. We tried for a while for the first one then decided now is not the time let's wait until after your masters is complete. Well now we have a two year old and she just finished her masters lol. We literally said let's wait in the meantime adopt a second dog. When adoption process was complete...poof we're pregnant lol
