I am getting this humming noise from under the hood. It increases with the rpm’s. The best I could tell is it’s coming from the alternator. Does anyone know if that’s a sign of the alternator going bad? No electrical issues so far. I attached a video.

Sounds like an alternator whine to me. Have you gotten it excessively wet lately?

I haven’t gotten it wet other than normal winter driving.

Get a short section of hose and place one end at your ear and hold the other carefully by the alternator. You should be able to tell.

Could be a pulley bearing starting to go bad, I would start with idler pulley.
