Smashed one of the catalytic converter protection bars on a trail over the weekend so it's time to skid up my truck. I've seen a few threads on skids but no good pictures showing how much each skid covers. Some replace the cat bars and some leave 'em there. Post up your pics!

(particularly interested in aluminum and works with TRD pro front, but would be handy to see pics of all in one thread)

    Thanks!

I took these for someone else because they had the same exact question. These are mobtown offroad skid plates.

A full trilogy in steel from most manufacturers will run around $700-$800 off the top of my head. Others that have good coverage other than mobtown are SOS and BAMF. These are the main ones I can think of.

Skid plates are tricky. With some of the sales out there it’s not really worth it for me to try and custom fabricate a pre-existing product and be competitive with the price.

If you want something to really bash on, I’d recommend BAMF or Mobtown. I’ve never seen SOS up close so I don’t know where they lie as far as heft but those guys wheel harder than most of us in SoCal (skid wise).

If you want something somewhat capable without the weight I’d go with RCI.

It really depends on how much you actually think you’ll “need” them and how much you’re willing to sacrifice in added weight to the truck.

from what i've seen the CBI skids look like they have the widest coverage. I have ARB skids and theyre coverage is more like RCI

I just bought a front from 4x innovations made out of 1/4” and it wasn’t too too expensive. They are having a huge tax sale right now. Another would be @victory4x4 but the email I got the yesterday their lead times are a little extended due to covid 19. They also have a tax sale
