    Hi all,

I'm happy to announce a quick video we shot demonstrating some key features of our rear bumper for all 3rd Gen Tacomas!

The video walks briefly how to install our optional BSM brackets and towards the end shows them working on a quick road test. Eventually we will make a more in depth video on their function.

    Go and check it out!

Thanks everyone, we look forward to any questions and comments. A video for the front bumper will be coming soon as well.

    -Regards,

    The Apogee Off Road Team

Holy shit. I’ve been waiting for one of these for an eternity. Please don’t stop making it between now and when I buy it or I will be eternally sad

also @Cav_BluTRD wants one too. Deal on 2?

Thanks for the video! The BSM part looks great. I personally wouldn't mind if the little step below the BSM was eliminated, and the bumper was more "form fitting" below the plastic cover. I see the hole as a place for dirt/debris buildup, and an eyesore, frankly. :notsure: Also, I wouldn't mind seeing a video showing the backing up-cross traffic alert in action (I'm sure it works, though!). Thanks again!

Definitely something we should have covered in the video, but gives us some content for the next one! We can definitely offer the same part without the step relief cutout if you prefer. We didn't want to totally eliminate the helper step on the side into the bed, but you're right it can definitely catch some dirt! Thanks for the feedback, hope to hear from you soon.

Awesome. Glad to hear that you'll be offering a plastic cover without the step! One last thing, please, any chance you can relocate the A logo to the right side of the license plate? Having it on the left corner throws the bumper out of balance, in my opinion. Looking forward to it!

I understand why it's necessary, but holy cow, this bumper sticks out past the fenders. Seems like something that will get hung up on a tight trail.

Like having saddle bags on a motorcycle, you'll definitely want to account for the extra width...

Always loved that video haha, its definitely necessary for the BSM functionality, but the camera angle makes that width look huge! One of the downsides of using a wide angle lense. In reality its about .75" past the bedsides on either side. In some sticky situations it could potentially hang you up, but it could also save your taillight and bedsides from major rock rash. In future versions it would be ideal to have an extendable plate to protect the bedside all the way up to the fender. Thanks for the feedback!

Unfortunately we don't have the current capacity to make small one off changes like that to the bumper. In future versions of the bumper we might keep it in mind!

Great! Your logo can be lit up by the license plate light!

@Apogee Offroad any change in the amount of clearance on the backside of the hitch? Curious if it will interfere with larger than stock spare tires. Or if you have a measurement from backside of the hitch to the diff cover that would be awesome!

Looking good. Plans on doing an HC? I think the bumper sticking out from the bedside will be less apparent with an HC option.

Good video! Agree with above! High clearance would be awesome. Maybe at an inward angle as you go into the fender flare to hide how wide it is at the back
