    Depends on the class/instructor. I teach the Texas LTC, and I usually bring my VP9 in case someone needs a pistol for the qualification.

    Rock Island 45 compact. Bought a yr back and I don't think its even been shot. Gun 2 mags and holster $400
    Smith and Wesson sd40 and 2 mags. Few yrs old..probably a few hundred round through it. $225
    FNX tactical 45. Got a few months back. Never shot besides factory round. Streamlight gun light 3 mags and case $1100
    500 round of American eagle 223- $30 buck per 100 round box

    I'm actually looking to do the class a couple times, I guess just to drill it in me. I'll def have to find a range that will rent out as well after the class to continue practicing before taking the final 1/2 of the permit test.

    The state mandated information in the class isn't that helpful to be honest. I've taken the class 2x and both times I could have slept through it and made a 100. Id recommend taking the LTC course and then a private class on basic self defense/Handgun training rather than taking 2 LTC classes.

    This is very true. I'm actually a firearms instructor and we do a class that is designed to be a followup to the LTC class. The LTC class is about the law, and conflict avoidance (both of which are important), but nothing about how to win a gunfight. We teach a 1 day course that covers draw and trigger pull mechanics, accuracy, movement, use of cover, multiple targets, shooter problem solving to help fill in the gaps.

    Also, dry fire training is a huge tool for developing accuracy. Our team created a dry fire training packet for people to use while quarantined. It's just a PDF packet with 2 dry fire routines, safety rules and a distance compensated target. If anyone is interested in having a copy, DM me your email address and I'll send it to you. Free of charge.

    I'm wanting to pick up a VP9 to use as a primary. Carrying a VP9SK now, which would go BUG. Running a Phenom Stealth, but still getting used to it. I kind of like my Tulster better.
