Could give powers a try. It also comes out of the same distillery as red breast. That distillery being Middleton, some Jameson comes from there as well.

My store got back in some Stagg Jr. so I snapped it up as soon as I saw it this time. Not going to open it right yet but I'm excited to try it when I do. Looks like batch 13 so it should be tasty.

fedex brought this today. seems the distillery mainly serves as a blend in Chivas Regal. I basically ordered it from touchofmodern when I was frustrated that online retailers were not shipping to my state. that has since changed. We'll see how it is. Looks interesting at least.

I keep looking at that Jefferson’s aged at sea and haven’t pulled the trigger. You’ll have to let me know if it’s worth it.

I'm a MacCallan 12-year guy myself. But my DIL got me a sampler pack of Glenmorangie whiskies which I liked a lot...aged in port or sherry casks. If you like whiskey but don't necessarily like peatiness give this a try.

    https://www.glenmorangie.com/en-us/our-whiskies

Sometimes you can get Glenmorangie or MacCallan for pretty cheap, though unfortunately it's hard to find much selection at less than $40 these days. The problem with popularity...

I have had Angel's Envy and Pappy van Winkle and like them, but to be honest I am fine with Knob Creek or Woodford Reserve. I like a pretty sweet, thick-tasting bourbon myself.

For cocktails rye is nice. Bulleitt is pretty good, as is Knob Creek Rye. The best bang for the buck is George Dickels, which used to be super-cheap but has gotten kind of popular so more expensive.

Nevertheless, it's amazing that you can get a world-class liquor for under $30.

Oh while I'm thinking about it...a couple of mixers to up your game.

A quality vermouth like Dolin's will make a great Manhattan, along with 1/2 oz of Lazzaro’s maraschino liqueur. Also don't forget the Luxardo cherries. Never settle for those supersweet cherries soaked in corn syrup.

Regan's orange bitters works for a quick Old Fashioned--just put a tsp or so of (preferably demerara) sugar in the glass, dash the bitters on it, add a Luxardo cherry and mull it, then add 2 oz. whiskey and ice. Ah I wish I had one now.

Finally, Campari is an important component of many drinks like a Negroni or Boulevardier, but Martini and Rossi 1872 Speciale Bitter is a similar amaro-type apertif that will complement your favorite cocktail.

Pretty solid haul from my local store next to where I work. I’m a buffalo trace fanboy to say the least. After I finished the last bottle of eagle rare tho I knew I needed another. I’ve been drinking that as my daily. Sooo good, it’s like a hug in a bottle.

Haha that’s just what I bought today. I need to get a picture of the storage closet. I collect but I drink it. Never understood people that buy bottles and don’t drink it.

This shit is amazing! Got lucky and scored 2 bottles back in December. I’m gunna try to pick up another bottle when it’s released in the summer but I have a feeling it’s gunna be tough to get. If you like regular blantons the Gold is even better.

Where did you get it? Would love to grab a bottle but I haven't been overseas in years. They said they were going to sell in the US, but only once a year and very small amounts. Doubt I'll ever see it in the wild.

WTF are you drinking? I opened this Aberlour double cask 12 year. A sherry bomb and very tasty! Low on the burny, goes down like silk. Also picked up a new-to-me Compass Box The Spaniard. Big fan of Compass Box!

I can't find a lot of shit posted on here LOL
I'm afraid to open my Booker's because I don't know when I'll get another one. Also when I got it a tear rolled down my cheek. The tear smelled like caramel and burnt maple. Tasted like sweet corn up front with a little burn, but finish surprisingly smooth with a leathery dark chocolate cherry note.
