I am wondering if an OEM JBL subwoofer box and finish panel straight off a 16 TRD OR will fit in my Truck. My Truck doesn't have the JBL system, it has the entune premium system. Any idea if this will work/complications? It doesn't come with an amp. IMG_9568.jpg

You definitely need an amp. The non JBL entune system is run purely off the head unit which will not have the juice to run that subwoofer, I bet. You could try it though. Is the amp not back there with the sub? I'm pretty sure it's mounted back there near it in trucks with the JBL system. Making it work will be a can of worms no doubt. There's two options I suppose, neither of which are worth doing most likely.

    1) Buy aftermarket amp to drive the JBL woofer...need to figure out what that woofer wants power wise, it won't be much. Will need to high-jack a signal from the entune head unit and send it to the amp. Might can get away without cleaning that signal but you probably will need to clean it for decent results (see JL Audio CleanSweep or similar). If you go that route though it would be worth buying a better woofer...

    2) Try to source the JBL amp and use that. This could be as easy as plug-and-play but you may need a JBL compatible entune head unit. They could be different (doubt it) but I wouldn't be surprised if they put locks in the non-JBL ones so they don't play nice with the JBL amp.

If you're talking about the physical thing itself, it should bolt right up. For using it, it wouldn't work as that missing amp (which would have been mounted directly to the left of the sub) is what powers the sub. Also the connections aren't the same for jbl/non-jbl (at least for my year's jbl vs nonjbl systems). If you're going to go through the work of running a signal from the head unit and purchase an amp to power that sub, it'd probably wouldn't cost you much more to get another sub that would perform much better.

The factory jbl systems have an amp to power all the speakers. The amp is fed a low voltage signal to the amo for volume, fade control, ect.
The factory jbl sub is a 2 ohm low power unit.
I would reuse the factory housing and put in an aftermarket thin based sub "not to deep" pioneer and kicker make a few that fit and I believe its an 8" sub. Run an aftermakert amp it would be alot eaiser less headaches and give a lot better performance.
The non jbl setups dont have the output power to run the sub and crossover to feed it lower frequencies the factory jbl systems its all crossed over in the factory amp.
If you try to run higher frequencys through it most likely would burn it out and possibly fry the internal amp on your head unit as it isnt designed for that draw.

In addition to what everyone else is saying, If you want the OEM look of the subwoofer, I would buy a new 8 inch sub to put in that box, then get a aftermarket amp and install that. You will have the OEM look with a better subwoofer.
