I am looking to put 17" Helo HE835's on my sons truck. I am new to the aftermarket wheels scene. I have been trying to do research but I wanted to ask the experts before purchasing. The truck is a stock 2003 Tacoma Prerunner. If I have read correct the wheel hub bore on the truck is 106.1 and is hub centric. Is that correct? The Helo wheels have a hub bore of 106.25. Do I need hub rings. If so will a 110 to 106 hub ring be correct? Thanks in advance!

    Stay safe! Stay healthy!

106.25 mm to 106.1 mm is .15 mm. That's probably about the thickness of a sheet of paper. They probably make the wheel 106.25 to take in account manufacturing variances.

So hub rings are not needed?

I'm no expert, so I won't answer that. I was just making an observation that it was an extremely small difference. It's equal to 6/1000 of an inch.

Depends how concentric the bolt circle is to the hub bore.
Having tapered lug seats makes them lug centric.
Having a hub bore matching the hub makes them hub-centric.

I have a feeling 106.25 is a dimension pulled from manufacturing drawings, pre-finish.
If we assume 106.25 mm is nominal for 106.1 mm then you have a hub centric and lug centric wheel.
Just make sure you get a balance which replicates the conditions they will be mounted on the vehicle.
Fitted collet, not a cone and heads that duplicate your lug seat/lug nut interface.

    Short answer; no.
