I recently purchased a truck which took five shot to the front end. Two rounds went through the fender, into the cab, and through the engine harness. I've traced the path of all of the other rounds and those are the only two which have done any significant damage.
I've repaired the wiring harness with those low temperature solder sleeves. It seemed to be a success. I reassembled the interior, called a locksmith to cut and program a key and she wouldn't start. The security light does turn off indicating the key was programmed correctly.
It cranks but it will not start.
It will start and idle great with a little starter fluid.
I've already dropped the tank to find out that the pump isn't receiving power.
I also don't have drivers side rear window, no horn, and my 30A trailer charging fuse keeps blowing. All other fuses are good inside the cab and under the hood.
The I've removed the cover on the ECU. No burnt capacitors or anything.
After completely reassembling the interior I've torn it all back apart again, double checked my work (connections look great). I've looked underneath the truck, all throughout the engine bay, and I cant find any other broken or damaged wires.

    I'm stumped.
Does anybody have any suggestions on where to look next or what it could possibly be?

    Any help is GREATLY Appreciated

    Pictures are not in order.

Assembled for the first time expecting it to start:

    Two questions.
    1. What's the story with it being all shot up.
    2. Check the battery? Alternator?

I dontbelieve it was seized. It appears to have been taken apart by a body shop. I'm guessing they disassembled to assess the extent of the damage. All hardware was neatly packaged in bags, everything was included, and audio wires were labelled.

No blood or anything. Nobody would have been hit even if they were sitting passenger. Gutted interior by a body shop to assess damage.
One bullet was in the blower fan area. The other just fell on the floor near the glovebox. Nothing made it past there.

@FiveShotTaco Thinking out loud. Try bypassing the fuel pump resistor in front of the battery and see if it will start then. The resistor only runs the pump slow when the demand for fuel is low. The fuel pump relay shifts the pump between low speed and high speed operation. There could be damage to the wiring for the resistor.

    This print may help:

Is it tripping any codes at all while cranking??

Have the Air Intake hooked up so the MAF can tell the ECM the engine is cranking?

Some of the codes will shut off the fuel to what the ECM thinks is a not cranking or running engine.

I am hoping you have the EWD for your truck .Just what wires were spliced for what circuits

Have you checked for voltage drops on all your splices it would only take one bad one in the right circuit

It is a circuit by circuit process

I would try a multi-meter set to ohms and just check the resistance of the wires to make sure they are not broken somewhere else.

Here is a link to a 2015 wiring. It may not be the same as your 2013, but it might help.

It has some damn nice King shocks on it. Those probably cost 2-3 k alone brand new.

    Good luck.

Thank You Very Much! I'll try that now.

I cant get it to connect. The locksmith claims to have confirmed key programming through the OBD2 port (I didnt have OEM radio at the time so I couldn't see the security light turn off) however I cannot connect to read codes but it does give my scanner power.

I didn't pay much more for the whole truck! Only 85K miles too. I sure hope I can put some on it myself.

Let us know what you find. Bypassing the resistor would had been one of my first suggestions as well. @Jimmyh is usually spot on with his advice most of the time.

What caliber were they? I’ve learned that 9mm holes are easier to work with than .45 ..... me, I prefer only working on vehicles with .243 holes. Those generally go straight through cleanly.
