Twice now, I've noticed that after a prolonged rain, a small amount (<1/2 cup) of water appears in the middle of the passenger's foot well area. The first time, several months ago, I wasn't certain that it hadn't been a result of some shopping that I'd tossed there, but this morning (after it had rained most of the previous 48 hrs) when i got in, there was the same, small pool of water. The truck had not been driven since the previous Friday, and we'd had no rain until Tuesday of this week.

I've looked all around, but I can't see any sign of where the water is coming from; laterally, the puddle appears in the centre of the the footwell area, and longitudinally, it's approximately under where it would be were it dripping from under the dash above the passenger's knee area, but there's no sign of it.

It's definitely rain water, and there's no indication of where it could be coming from. It certainly doesn't happen every time it rains, but on the two occasions when I've been aware of it, the truck has been nose down slightly. Based on the slope of my driveway, the rear wheels would be ~6" above the front. It's not a huge issue, but it's slightly vexing... anyone aware of anything similar? It doesn't seem to fit the leaking windshield issue I've seen mentioned.

    2018 so not a issue.

I would put a hose on the windsheild, chances are the water is coming in from the cowl panel into the cabin filter, then leaking down the blower box.

Pull the filter out of the glovebox area, and check for blockages there. Also check the AC drain hose is not plugged.

I ask because it may be a clogged sunroof drain. I don't know if this is a problem on Tacoma but it seems to be pretty universal across cars. In the front corner of the open sunroof you should find a little hole on each side. The drain tube runs down the A pillar and dumps out from there. I've seen it on other cars get clogged and backed up and leak. Worth checking if you have one.

I should also add, there's no indication anywhere of a wet path... it's like the water simply appears, as if someone had tipped over an almost empty water bottle (and no, no one else has access to the truck, so not a practical joke).

Pure water, no antifreeze, so I'd think that unlikely, 'though the placement is right.

Go under with a air gun and shoot air into the ac drip hose thing. If it water gushes out then it was just clogged.

Do you have a roof rack? I have a Prinsu and had this same issue about 2-4 months ago. Water on the passenger side floor. Turns out the prinsu wasn't sealed correctly and water was coming down the Passenger A-Pillar. Anyways if you have a roof rack that might be the issue. If you don't then i dont have a good suggestion at this time

Thanks - I do have the OEM roof rack; it's been on for 2+ years, but it's possible something has gone haywire.

Its possible - I had my prinsu on at that point for 9months and didn't have any issues until recently. If it is dealer installed i'd take it in and get it looked at for sure

It's 'me' installed; I'll have to pull it off and have a look.
