Removed the old rotten porch posts and dry laid the bluestone today. Depending on weather tomorrow I might lay the stone or stain and seal the new cedar posts.

I love the look of bluestone. Wrapping the sides, too, I hope? :)

Yup, the step will get a 2” tread then the sides will get wrapped in stone to match the back entryway I did a while ago:

    Finished redoing the kitchen-
This is the before, a brand new kitchen in a brand new house. BUT, the builder wouldn't do it the way my wife wanted, so it had to come out. Sold it on craigslist so it wasn't a complete loss.
    1.jpg
The thing to notice is how little light falls on the counters and the lack of drawers in the lower cabinets.
    2.jpg
Here's a shot of the shit job the contractor did on the install. My wife is a clean freak and they didn't so much as sweep the dirt before installing the cabinets. You can also see that the cabinets are made out of something resembling graham crackers in both strength and consistency.
    3 trash.jpg
    The old kitchen is gone.
    4allgone.jpg
The asshole installer drilled holes into the floor, even though they knew we were going to remove the kitchen. Murphy made sure that the holes weren't covered by the new cabinets, so the floor had to be repaired.
    5jerks.jpg
And through the magic of hard work and not taking any pictures of the process, it's done!
    6done.jpg
The lower cabinets are 100% drawers. There is actually more usable storage than the first kitchen and it doesn't seem soo dark. Still have to add some decorative shelves, but that will have to wait until the virus is gone.

    Very nice transformation.

To me, in the first picture, it looks like the can lights are not properly located - hence the lack-of-light problem. It does not appear to be a problem in the new kitchen, since you don't have upper cabinets.

The hanging lights look great, too.

Had this strip of grass on the side of my driveway that was 5’ wide and 32’ long that drove me nuts because it just got unruly all the time and my driveway is skinny as it is so I dug it out and concreted then whole thing

Also bought some pressure treated lumber and started on a play set for the kids in the backyard. Couple swings, a slide, a rock wall, and maybe a little clubhouse underneath at some point. Little dude loves to help

Your wife had a much better vision. I’m curious what it ended up costing you after the mix up. Did the builder reimburse you guys at all?

Can you guys recommend a good cabinet paint?

I’m going to repaint my kitchen cabinets which are already white (gonna stay white).

I painted my master bath cabinets with a Lowes Valspar Cabinet Enamel in a dark grey.

It has held up well but I’m not the greatest fan of how it laid and I felt like its true cure time is 45 days.
The reviews are very poor when people use white so I’m worried about using it in my kitchen.

I will be rolling the cabinets not spraying.

Question. I need to build a ramp and am going to use 80 lb concrete bags. It's 10" tall X 60" long X 44" wide. How many bags do I need? I never have been good with calculating things like this. Any help is appreciated.

25 exactly. Might want to make it 30. You can always return what you don't use
