    I'd say it's a fine equivalent.

But what's really interesting is that while the safety data sheet for CRC Lanocote states lanolin in the product, the SDS for Fluid Film *doesn't* mention lanolin. I don't get that. Fluid film's SDS describes only petroleum distillates and while the composition may not be complete due to trade secrets and nonhazardous ingredients, it totals to a good portion of the Fluid Film formulation.

That detail aside, I've used Fluid Film for years and wouldn't hesitate to substitute the CRC product.

I wouldn't be afraid to use it. I live in the northern rust belt where road chemicals are used in the winter to prevent roads from freezing during ice and snow storms. From my experience with rubberized undercoating, it dries hard and after a few years will start to crack and peel and moisture just loves those cracks.
I've used both Fluid Film and Eastwood's Amber Rust preventive, neither dry to a hard surface. My Tacoma is coated with both and her HHR just has Eastwoods anti rust. Both are doing good and try to look at them annually. The Tacoma especially because of the frame rust issue.
I also use the 24 inch 360* extension hose Eastwood sells to get in the cavities. To straighten the vinyl hose out I carefully heat it up and with gloves on I run it through my figures until it's straight..
