    Greetings fellow Az Taco brethren,

Just got a bit of a liftypoo and realizing in the process I just made my bottle jack obsolete. Considering getting a pair of rock sliders not necessarily for the protection, but more so to act as a recovery point for a hi-lift.

A bit strapped for cash after the lift and really dont even want anything too excessive mainly bc Im concerned about the added weight.

Anyone know of a local fabrication outfit that could produce a pair of light weight sliders for a reasonable price?

I also see quite a few bolt-on options listed as sliders around the $300 range and wonder if these are legit. Obv not interested in steps and the price has me questioning them compared to what Sierra and other shops have recommended.

Any advice on the matter would be most appreciated.

    Thanks!

Avid offroad made mine and they are great. You can do weld or bolt on. Give Brandon a call and he will be honest with you about what options would fit best for you.

these super strong. I use them all the time. There is many ways to stack them and inter lock them for stability and a solid lifting platform for a jack. ( remember to put your spare or the old tire under any jacked vehicle in case it might fall.

I grew up on a farm working with a hilift, I have a hilift bolted to the side of my truck with a ton of accessories for it as I work with SNORR (Southern Nevada Off Road Recovery).
But I will go to this leveling blocks and a bottle jack first. You have to think all the time, this hi-lifts job is to try to kill me or maim me. Its a great tool but its not always the best tool.

Sliders are great for a lot of things, I would recommend them but not for the primary purpose of lifting the truck. its a great second or third or fourth purpose. If your strapped for cash I would hold off.

I had mine made by a great guy in east Mesa. I can connect you with him if you want to go that route. As they're custom you get to set it up exactly the way you want. He had mine done and installed in about a week so there's also a bit of instant gratification. They will be more than $300 though.0302201250.jpg

Thx for this. Think I’ll eventually go the slider route when I can afford but def need something for the near term. So to be clear you put the bottle jack on top of the leveling blocks? I noticed they have some grooves in them which has me slightly concerned it might not sit flush and cause instability...

How about this, when your ready come over I will be in Phoenix for the next 2 weeks. I will give you a free class on lifting. You can use my taco so you can try out the different lifting methods without hurting anything. That way you will know what want and the safest way to do it.

Bolted. They can be welded if wanted but I hate welding on my back.

Yeah I've been thinking about getting these due to the good price on them, not sure that I want to weld them to a new frame. Did you drill all the holes that are needed for install?

Yeah, these required me to drill the holes.

Just installing mine already burnt out a 1/2" drill bit on the first hole even after step the pilot bits up progressively. Kudos to the tough frame. It's going to be fun.

Get some 3 in 1 oil and drill slowly if you're not. Unlubricated, high speeds bits die fast.

Protool lube and drill bit paste with a 135° split point drill bit with steady even pressure. Excellent advice though. These Toyota frames are tougher than Jeep frames that's for sure. Your sliders look great. I look forward to installing mine and painting them with POR15 and welding in some filler plates that are dimpled. A caliraised knock off look.
