This camera install has been the bane of my existence. I am installing one of those backup cameras from Amazon in my buddies 4Runner, it's a Natika brand. I had an almost impossible time running it from the liftgate into the interior but finally got that finished last night and thought I was home free.....

This camera has one power wire with an Rca style connector on it that has a tiny red wire sticking out that connects to the head unit reverse camera wire. when I went to plug in this tiny wire, it completely pulled out of the RCA connector.
Is there a way I can solder it back in? I really really really do not want to run an entire you cable as it made me lose my mind a few times. I will post pics shortly.

The wire that’s attached to the rca is for remote turn on. Depending on your setup, you may not even need it. I just have the power leads attached and that wire is taped off. Then I just flip inputs on my head unit.

You already have a power and ground that go to camera correct? Do you have the other end of that hooked up to anything, like reverse trigger? If you are, just tap a new trigger at the dash fuse panel.

Usually in most setups that wire is to just trigger the units reverse input so you don’t have to run or find another wire inside the vehicle. Assuming the camera had a power and ground lead that you had to hook up, you can do without that wire.

Yes, to the tail light, but it doesn't work. Although that may have been my poor installation.

I see, ok, thanks. So the power and ground to the tail light should be good to go?

But if you get power from the tail lights, the camera will only be powered when the tail lights are "On"".
