My differential lock stopped working In my 2nd Gen. Tacoma about 3 years ago I bought a factory new motor for the lock, As instructed by a mechanic shop nearby. It still does not work. When I push the switch The locking diff light comes on But just keeps blinking and does not lock in. So it sounds like the motors not getting Power. I must have checked the fuses about 8 times.
Any advice on how to fix this?

Have you tried rolling forward a few feet when the light is flashing? Sometimes that can get it to lock into place.

...and while in 4lo and rolling forward, are you turning your wheels to the left and right? Allows the rear axle splines to line up and the locker to engage.

Yes, I have tried all of these things more than once and in different combinations. I'm pretty sure it's an electrical Problem getting power to the locker motor. Does anybody know how circuit works? I've tried looking at the circuit maps online, but I'm not that good with electrical.

I have even gotten underneath and taken off the cover for the locking pin and manually actuated it. The dash light then says it has been locked. So it has to be the motor electrical.

see if you’re getting 12v to the motor when the button is pushed. Check the electrical contexts as they may have corroded or the solder broken.
