You really should have more respect for folks you don't know. I used to think you were a cool dude. Now I know you're just a POS.

Because we are breed to be consumers. If folks did not mod their trucks, they'd just blow the money on something else.

@ZonKs apologies for any derailing. I was just making a humorous post in response to some one else, and then a third party felt they needed to attack me for an unrelated reason that has nothing to do with your thread. I'll unsubscribe to help keep your thread clean.

No need to be banished. You have every right to your opinion. I live and work in the city. It is the same thing , buildings and concrete or asphalt roads.

This is a much nicer view IMHO.

My argument was that I need and use 4x4 every day because I work construction and need to drive around our job sites. Which are sometimes 100s of acres. We do site development.

Wise. And worthy of observation. I spend my 7 to 4 with tools in my hand, jump starting and recovering heavy equipment stuck in random dirt patches, climbing into tiny holes with a welding torch...this is why my favorite form of recreation is a desk or couch, indoors, staring at a screen

    I get it.

No offense at all. Whether for fun or work some consider it a challenge. I compare it to "trials" motorcycle. Why build a bike with no seat that never goes faster than 2mph. Lol. If I had to rock crawl everyday for work it would become sketchy, but that's where the fun is.

    Agreed. Until it doesn't.

That's when the Off Road model kicks in with a rear locker and if needed: Crawl Control. They are built right, right out of the box. (other than needing better tires).

Foosball, Soccer, Baseball would be great if it were Hockey! ;)

My Dad was a Sgt in the Marines. WW2 and Korea. Radioman . My brother and I used to be after him to take us camping, this was in the late 60s early 70s. He was a great Dad but on that issue he always said,"I did enough camping in the Marines" - He didn't take any B.S. off us either.

I understand where you’re coming from completely. I grew up on a tobacco farm and worked on it for quite a while up till ~ 10 years ago. Just getting from field to field often meant going through “trails” a lot more complex and harsh than what people post themselves doing on here. I pulled trailers of tobacco to the barn all day long with a stock 5 speed rear wheel drive s10 through muddy rutted roads up hill in the middle of the woods people on here would back away from with lifts and lockers. I figured out how to not get stuck doing it pretty quick when I was probably 11 or 12. I used my first Tacoma to pull the same trailers through the same roads. Sometimes it made things frustrating when that road was standing in the way of what you needed to do.

There is a big difference though when playing in the road is what you ‘need’ to do :p

Trails and mud and hills are fun. I will say that a lot of the slow rock crawling people do...I don’t find that fun at all and I’m not sure how anyone does...I think they just like messing with their truck and seeing if they can more than the act of doing it.

I do think trails are more fun when tackled with some speed or at least a good pace. The folks that drive down simple trails braking at idle speed and then nearly stop for a tiny 2 inch rock on the trail annoy the shit out of me.
