Installed a Start-X remote start. I followed the installation videos found online and I can’t believe just how easy it was. I took my time and it only took 20 mins.

I wasn't that concerned about it, didn't know about all the drama, but thanks for the point reference.

As well as, appearently some people choose to be dicks for no reason, instead of being kind and helping one another.

I bought it in Oct. ‘19 and believe it was leaking then. However, I didn’t realize that was an issue with the earlier 3rd gen double cabs until I did some research.

I noticed the lens was also cracked, but contribute the leaking more to a failed gasket. I put silicone around it to stop it from leaking until I could replace entirely.

I started checking the headliner around the brake light after it would rain. I noticed during heavier rains, the headliner would get slightly wet. Also, looking behind the seats, I would find traces of water.

I called the owner of the landscaping company who's mower slung a rock into the side of my 3 month old truck. Plenty of witnesses that the area being mowed was strewn with rocks. I called the owner and got a voicemail. Told him if he did not take care of this I would just contact the city who hires him to mow the grass around the city. I told him I would text him the pix of the rock damage as well and I did. He texted back immediately and said he would call shortly. he called, apologized and told me to get an estimate wherever and send it to him and he would pay it. I did an online estimate with Caliber Collision and have not heard back from them yet. The damage isn't great but it is damage caused by a slung rock from a mower that needs to be taken care of on my brand new truck.

You should be fine, I've never seen anything other than 2016 model owners saying they had this problem. I believe Toyota addressed it after it was a frequent problem with that model year.

Glad he said that he would take care of it. Small or not that would drive me crazy especially on a 3 month old truck.

Before the rack installation, the following mods have been installed in the past:

    • XB Headlights
    • Ditch lights (on hood) (plan to replace them with new ones later.)
    • Taillights (clear glass instead of red)
    • Total Tail Light for taillights
    • Rain guards for windows
    • Pop n lock for tailgate
    • Meso FOB (another Meso FOB on the way for secondary factory fob replacement)
    • Remote starter
    • Leds in map and dome lights...
    • Leds in tail lights and reverse which came with Total light mod.
    • Topper with rack, lights included inside.
    • Bed Stiffeners
    • Hood struts
I haven't posted about the mods above because I was lurking for awhile before I decided to post. Anyway, I have more mods that are planned to be installed.
