Wow , I just learned something, leaving the glasses in the open holder. Now I feel dumb, why didn’t I think of that. I wear prescription glasses, safety glasses, sunglasses, it’s all a pain in the ass. Transition lenses are great, but don’t work in a modern vehicle, thus the need for sunglasses.

I have never used the holder in my truck. Sunglasses set in the front of the console so they do not get so hot.

I understand this issue. I moved out of my prior home a week after buying because I didn't like the brushed nickel

Wow, that went sideways in a hurry

I leave my prescription sunglasses in the truck, throw my glasses in there while I have my shades on to drive. I have to remember to pull them out before I stop the engine to cool them off using the vents

May try drilling and post after, probably won't make a difference tho, too bloody hot

You are thinking back ass wards , you need to drill holes in your sun glasses to cool them not the holder .

I would price out a replacement before I started drilling holes.

Be my luck a 9 yr. old kills me.

edit: Time for someone to invent a sunglass/mask for summer. It will be the new pet rock.

I have a really sweet TRD can coozie that stays in the cupholder in front of the shifter. I regularly put my drinks in it, but when I get out I put my sunglasses into the coozie.

Much better than the sunglass holder.
