My son had a virtual camp out Friday night with his Boy Scout troop. They had planned to be at West Point for a national campout with scouts. We have had a fire almost every weekend since this started.

We’ve used a silver tarp with a white sheet clipped to it for the screen also. Works well in case you don’t have an actual screen. We tried just a white sheet but it needs a solid, light colored backer without any patterns.

That’s really good for just a phone projector, we actually bought a portable projector that we have to plug into a computer.

The screen was like twenty bucks on Amazon and yea especially since the projector attachment came for free with the phone

My brother in law bought be a home brewing basics kit a couple years back, now that i’m quarantined, I broke it out, bought the necessary supplies and am going to give it a go. Any home brewers around here have any tips? So far it seems like cleanliness is the top priority so as long as you get that part right, there’s limited room for the rest to go wrong. I’ll be trying an American Wheat beer in the coming weeks!

I think there’s a beer brewers thread on TW somewhere.

Brewing beer is fun. Helped a few friends out with it. Timing and temperature is key. One of my friends has perfected 8 to 10 beers. Surprisingly, my favorite one he does is a Mango Saison. I almost never drink the fruity style beer but this one is amazing that is not over powering. It's like a desert.

    Good news!

From pretty much Day 1 of when I installed my roll bar last summer one of the lamps wouldn't illuminate. It would fire maybe 1 out of every 8 times I turned it on. Since they are HID, there are so many things that could go wrong, bulb, ballast, igniter. When I did an HID kit for my Vette lamps, one of the igniters was bad, so when the lamps didn't work, I blindly assumed it was something within the ballast / igniter situation. I wanted to reach out to KC for a warranty claim, but between cutting the harness between the relay and plug to length the wiring and having to cut the lamp plug off to re-route it I assumed that I wouldn't have a leg to stand on with the warranty.

I ended up tracing out the wiring and verified I had good connections, which then pointed to something wrong within the lamp. KC hides the ballast/igniter inside the housing, and the weather pack plug is the only connection point outside of the bulb, I couldn't test the ballast and igniter separate. So I wrote them a letter asking for spare parts since it appears the HID version of the Pro Sport lamps are discontinued. In a moment of frustration I said screw it, I'll convert them back to halogen, if I can figure out how to make an H3 work in there.

So I had everything apart and I said, let's test one more time. It was a bad bulb. That's all it was, I could use the "bad" lamp's ballast/igniter to fire off a known working bulb, and the "bad" bulb wouldn't fire with a known working ballast/igniter.

I still need to figure out a way to remove the bounce in the center of the mount, but I can do that next season when my time isn't limited, and I need to eventually paint some bolt heads that look a little rusty that hold the side panels on, but otherwise, I'm good, I ordered a new KC bulb (just so they'd match, if another one goes, I'll get a set of (4) cheapie bulbs so they all match). One less thing to annoy me moving forward.

Now if my refinance can just close before May 1 so I don't pay that month's payment, I'm good.

Hopefully some others here have some good news to share as well tonight.

I would really like to learn how to make rum. I started half assed researching it and it seemed fairly involved with a decent learning curve. At the moment, I don't have time or the drive to get the equipment required. Later in life, I'd like to learn how to do it.
My brother in law got me the kit and recommended it as a good starter. I also really like wheat beer so it could be a the start of something great!

Thank you for the tips on the waiting period. I'm in no rush so it's good to have that tip about letting it sit a little longer for a better end result.
That Saison sounds like my kind of beer. I do tend to like the lighter more citrus or fruity beers, especially in the summer. I'm pretty picky about the darker beers that I'll actually drink and you'll never see me with a Porter or Stout. I'm excited about it, hopefully it turns into a fun side hobby.

we infuse rum with flavors. Banana vanilla is the old stand by. We’ve done a ton though. Sugar cookie is a good one. Mojito is a popular one. Blueberry pie was our best but we can never make it again. We almost killed a few people who polished off some bottles.... :D (not really but still). If that Maine trip happens I’ll bring some.
