I think my Taco is driving like a M1A right now. For about a week, my truck suddenly especially at low RPMs fights me hard turning left or right to include in reverse (That's worse). I hear no noises, no squeals, I see no leaks. Its original Power Steering Pump and Rack. Those are my two guesses. I did some searches on this forum and it seems most narrow it down to the same and obviously the pump is cheapest. It does seem like there are these small gaps when turning when it feels ok for a few degrees in the turn. then hits a wall again.

Any other thoughts of what this could be.. is this my pump? Any other info that could help assist in diag?

2006 Access, Sport 163K, 3'' lift. No major Mods.

Check the screen in the ps reservoir and clean it. Usually gets gunked up preventing flow.

Yeah I’d start there. Hit it with some pb blaster and see if it loosens up and steers normal. If so, just go ahead and replace it. This was mine.
