Is alternator voltage control currently modifiable in vF tuner? Or is that coming?

    Stuff like this?
    Voltage for on, off state
    Duty
    Duty limits,
    etc

(ECT axis will be updated and voltage is max )

ECU shows maximum charging volts is 14 FYI

Guys with those other voltages will likely require higher voltage limit + Increasing duty

For AGM batteries, I believe we want an alternator charge voltage between 14.4 and 14.8. Are you saying that the 14 V limit can be increased if we increase duty?

You can change it just by setting the value higher. But you would want to also increase the duty for the added work

So if I already own a tune file and I get a license key for vF tuner I can just load up my tune, change the voltage for charging to 14.8V, save the file and flash the truck? If its that easy then Im going to walk around with a big smile on my face for the rest of the day.

This keeps coming up because AGM type batteries require a higher voltage to keep sufurization from happening. Battery manufacturers recommend 14.6-14.8V IIRC. 2nd gen Tacoma owners could change the alternator output voltage by adding/changing a resistor/fuse under the hood, but the 3rd gen alternator output voltage is controlled via the ECU. If the ECU could be modified to allow higher charging system output voltage, then 3rd gen owners with AGM batteries wouldn't have to hook their trucks up to an AGM compatible charger every few weeks or so.

Is there any chance of getting a comprehensive and ongoing list on the website of things that VF will allow us to tune/adjust? ...Maybe even with plain English translations for those of us who aren't literate in tuning-speak (yet)?

I think it would go a very long way in helping people see the value of the software, and deciding whether the purchase is worthwhile for their specific needs in the first place.
For example, this ability to adjust charging voltage is not something I would have anticipated without somebody randomly asking about it here.

What, no Clippy equivalent? You know having an annoying animated Tacoma pop up every time you try to change something would be just the best thing ever! "I see you're trying to adjust DFCO limits, would you like some help with that?"
