Alright I’ve recently got my truck aligned and just by looking at it the camber is off but on paper it is in the green. I have fox 2.5 coil over, spc upper control arms, icon add a leaf and fox 2.0 shocks. I just curious if to much caster can effect the camber? The inner knobs of my tires aren’t even touch’s and when I toon it back to them they said it’s in spec. The only thing I can think of is it has to much caster.

Caster doesn't have anything do with how flat the tire sits nor how straight it points. Caster only makes the wheels want to straighten out when you let go of the steering wheel. As long as both sides are close, its good. Typically one side higher than the other (cant remember which) to help with crown in most roads.

Camber shows top of tires leaning out at the top (barely) but its right in middle of specs. Most shops would have said the initial camber was green and not bothered to move it at all. Looks perfect.

Are you just going by visual of the dirt on the tread?

Maybe try a chalk test at your current tire pressure, just to verify the wear pattern/contact patch. What do they have the tire pressure at?

Yeah I will have to try this but where I work there’s a layer of dust on the ground and gives a good idea of the contact. tire pressure is at 35psi

Thanks for the reply I was just making sure because on all the other trucks I’ve owned the camber has never really Been that positive. Also just looking at my coworkers trucks they have contact on all of the tire when drying though the dust at our work.

You can't eyeball an alignment. Your alignment is fine. Camber is in spec. Caster is high, but that is where you want it. Toe is exactly where it needs to be. It should drive straight and not wander. Just remember that these numbers are static and the idea is that it will change when you are driving.

It’s was definitely the eye ball test I’ll just watch the tread on the tires. Thanks for the reply!

Everything seem to be good just making sure because when eyeballing it sits in a bit. Tire pressure is at 35psi

My goodness, were you leaving black marks down the road before you had it aligned? It looks like they got it as good as they could. Camber and Toe are good. You won't wear the tires. Caster is low, but unless you get new UCAs, you can't get much better. It probably doesn't track that great and will go whatever direction it is heading if you let your hands off the wheel. Compared to the way it was before you aligned it, it probably feels great.

LOL !!! I did just replace the lca and I could hear the tires digging into the pavement. Does drive much better just hate the angled look of the front wheels

The toe on wheels after alignment still toes in/out. I don't know the term. The top of the wheels stick out further then the bottom of the wheels...just slighly.

Like Sungod said, your alignment is a static measurement.

    Factory spec is:
    +2.2 caster
    +0.5 camber
    +0.05 toe
    +12 steering axis inclination(SAI)

Your spindle rotates about 2 axes; caster and SAI. Caster is the side view(+2.2); SAI is the front view(+12 degrees).

When dynamic forces such as, bushing deflection, scrub radius, wind squat and cone effect from positive camber are applied, your toe moves out and camber moves toward zero. More positive scrub radius(wheel spacers or wheels with less positive offset) will cause it to toe out even more, which affects dynamic camber.

When the caster is higher, the change in dynamic camber is greater. Camber change while turning is also higher.

    It's a balancing act...

What are the specs on wheels and tires? Wheel spacers?

This combo adds about 1" of positive scrub.
You would benefit from a bit of added positive toe(toe-in)
I'd give you numbers, but I've forgotten what 2nd Ggen alignment specs are.

Alright so I should just ask the shop to add a little + toe. Does that make the tires wear uneven or its ok

Personally I would rotate the tires, drop the pressure down to 30ish, drive it a few days and then recheck the tread ware with chalk. I'm running 285/75 and have them down at around 28psi in the front.
