The seller notes, "Also required to complete the installation but not included is the Switch Deck Lamp part 84267-0C020, and Relay Deck Lamp part 90080-87026. Can be ordered on our site.

Now if you already have the switch deck lamp install in your vehicle then it won’t be necessary."

Did you purchase that part? How do I know if I already have the switch deck lamp?

I did not order anything else. I think the extra parts are for trucks without the factory cargo light and switch. My TRD OffRoad was pre-wired and has the driver switch. If you have a double cab with the cargo light, you’re good. Might want to check if yours is hot though. Some member’s with sports may be having issues.

If you have this switch that is circled in blue, then you should be all set.

Same thing here, no bed light on my Sport 2020

Truck has everything installed, fuse, relay, switch, harness, upper cargo lights working properly, and oh surprise no light

I am waiting for the next service to ask the dealership to fix this annoying issue

I took this issue [mostly seen in 2020 sports] to the next level. I traced with my wire tracker the wires from the bed lights into the cab. Found the rootcause of the issue, at least for me.

The wire from the bed lights comes up into the main relay box as you can see in the pictures:

    IMG_20200429_161012.jpg

its the black wire that comes into the second pin from the top row, counting from left to right:

    IMG_20200429_161143.jpg
Problem is that pin is not populated in the pin header in my car:

    IMG_20200429_161230~2.jpg

So that explains why the wiring in the bed light harness is not hot, even if the cargo lamp relay and the switch are present.

If someone has the diagram of that header in the relay box it will be much appreciated to see what else can be done. Im thinking of tapping E1 and somehow get the wire into the relay box

Wow good job tracing that down! Ugh that is completely annoying that a few of you have to deal with that...

What a predicament, would Toyota cover the lack of wiring under warranty? What if one wanted the oem bed light kit installed at the service center, would Toyota tell the owner it can't be done because of some excuse?

something like the 2020 roof rack problem of the shark fin being relocated on some vehicles?

That's a good question. I would hope they would take care of it at their cost. If not raise it to corporate. This seems like something that needs a TSB created for it.

The Cargo Lamp wire is inside the cab, not on that connector.
So purchase a repair wire, strip, crimp & seal length of wire that will reach the connector IE1_14.

Locate this bottom nipple and cut it. Use it to feed the wire into the cab. Tape up wire to the nipple after all done.

What I am learning from 9 pages of posts: buy the kit and ask the dealer to install it when I go in for my 5,000 service. I'm not dealing with all of this crap.

The install is very easy but the trouble shooting can be a pain if you did everything right and it still doesn't work.

That's what I am most afraid of. I'll get really frustrated if I do the work and it not work out right then have to take it to the dealer anyway.

I hear ya but it seems like its somewhat of a small chance of it not working. I would give it a shot and see. If it didn't work then bring it in to the dealer.

I installed mine in about 15 minutes. You can't mess it up unless you scratch a tail light. The plugs only go on one way! Give it a shot.

Geez . I wish these were available for the earlier trucks. Like em a lot better than the other one ones for the 2016 to 2019 models. Flush fitting
