I made this as a how-to as it relates to bolting a panel on our roof rack at Victory 4x4, but it's a good overview on how to put cheap solar in your Tacoma with other racks as well

    Hey Daryl,

Awesome write up. I’m going to do this soon and had a couple of questions. What exactly is behind that windshield seal? By lifting that seal up a bit does water get in or is that more of just a cover for the gap? I also read that is the way to run the wire for the LED light bars on the ROOF rack.

The seal on my truck is lifted from the windshield a wire sized gap from the factory, there is like an inner lip that actually seals I think.

I’m doing it this weekend I went with the 80w panel everything else the same, should be a easy install overall. I’m out 120 total had to get wire and a fuse.
