Maybe you up the price a tad on the special edition masks and get the multi color add on. The need for the masks isn't going away and time soon. Call it an investment for the future.

Well... They say all good things must come to an end.. or something stupid like that.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry at this point.

I put a clear coat on the doors today after waiting 48 hours like the directions said.. same brand of paint and clear coat. I don't know what went wrong but it bubbled the paint. And now that the rivets are in it's nearly impossible to try and fix. There's just no way I have the motivation to redo this massive project.

    IMG_20200429_102812006.jpg

If anyone has any ideas.. I'm all ears. I've got a ton of time and money in this project that I some how ruined within minutes.

Ok try to sand the clear coat down.

It may be a haze between paint and clear. Worst case strip it down and we can cut vinyl for you that you can just apply to the door and exacts the rivers out.

    Sucks this happened man.

It definitely wrinkled the paint... There no way to sand it down especially with the rivets in there.. what an incredible waste of time, money and creativity!

You can sand it just have to go with the stainless grain and use a training tool at the end. Then again you can strip it down and then vinyl cover the whole thing with the vinyl cut out and showing stainless for the parts you’re showing now. You can also exacto around the rivets.

It's brushed stainless steel.. with a pattern both ways.. plus the rivets... Plus the fact that I cut the stencil while it was on the doors and likely left the cut marks that I'll never be able to match.. at this point it's not worth investing any more into it...I appreciate the ideas tho..

They have a tool that is like a big barrel sander that puts stainless grain in the stainless.

You can also do two layers of vinyl with the first layer being whole and a second being the cutout. 3M make stainless steel look vinyl wrap. :D

Don’t give up so close to the finish line. I’ve had those days I take a day or two in order to clear my head and get unpissed. Then I get back at it and usually it ends up even better. :D

I just can't see a fix for this that doesn't require hours and hours of work.

Some sand paper to level it all and 2 layers of vinyl and no one will know the difference. :)

I can't just sand it.. there's like 120 rivets in there.

You only got to sand the main areas to help smooth it all out. The rivets shouldn’t stop that. You could use a chemical stripper and putty knife also.
