    thanks for the reply, but it has something to do with oil passage coming from the oil filter on a 4.0

    . Look on the back of the timing cover. Is there an o ring? I’m betting it come is a gasket kit for timing chain replacement.

    It appears to be flat.

    I haven't seen it in a timing chain set but it might be the small one in a head gasket kit.

    It would be in a engine gasket set but who wants to spend $150 for an o ring?

    OP, if you have the original you could take it Tractor Supply or a parts store and get one.

    Imo I wouldn’t get one from the parts store by matching up. The original oring has been compressed for in there for it entirety. It’s not gonna be its original size and you don’t wanna do “ it’s close enough” or “ that should work” or you’ll be taking that all part again.

    thanks for all the leads. i called toyota dealer in bay city mi and found its called an oring for the oil pump that sit in the front timing cover. had to send them a picture and they knew what it was!
