Actually, depth of field refers to how much of the background is in/out of focus; Hobbes looks all smooshed together because of the "foreshortening effect" of the telephoto lens, 210mm in this case. So I guess I should have said "Does this long lens make my butt look big?", but really I was just trying to make a funny, not start a primer on photographic terms.:p:D

Wife got Otis a tent but didn’t realize it’s only uses velcro. Not safe for outside use. Also he has only gone in it like three times. Once his curiosity has been peaked, he’s done with it.

Sounds like our cats. They investigate something new, then ignore it. But then a few weeks or month later it's like they've discovered something new and exciting on their own.
Then they're on and off with it.

So we've had this radio sitting in the house for a few months now, got it from the GF's Aunt. It's a 30's Fairbanks-Morse shortwave AM unit that at one point had what looks like a pretty good fire in the internals. Her aunt had kept it anyway because it's some sort of family heirloom (that nobody else wanted, as is common with heirlooms that don't work  ) She moved to Florida over the winter and we agreed to take it, and I've been doing a slow resto-mod on it since then. I've rigged it up so that the power switch (replaced with a modern, grounded unit) powers up the lights behind the faceplate and the heating elements in one of the old vacuum tubes that is visible though it (apparently F-M called it the Magic Eye), and also powers a bluetooth speaker. Last night was our first time using it since I finished restoring the cabinet, and Smokey was more than a little spooked when he walked by and heard phantom music noises coming from what has previously been an inert piece of furniture.

It is pretty cool. That's why I wanted to save it. Originally I'd planned on restoring the factory internals, but with the fire damage I opted to just save what I could and 'restomod' it instead.
