2013 tacoma code p2443

I have a 2013 tacoma throwing a p2443 code . So i replaced the secondary air injection valve . And it is still throwing the code ! HELP!!

 

This doesn't have to be just the valve:

Possible causes

• Faulty Vacuum Switching Valve (VSV)

• Vacuum Switching Valve (VSV) harness is open or shorted

• Vacuum Switching Valve (VSV) circuit poor electrical connection

• Faulty Pressure Sensor

• Faulty Air Switching Valve

 

You did clear the code after changing the part, right (not mentioned, but I assume?)

Wondering how long the code took to return?

 

Jimmyh how do i diagnose those possible causes? And yes i cleared the code right after . And drove almost 2 hours then went into football game came out started up and check engine and trac off light on with same code

 

Also someone asked me the other day if when i fill up with gas. Do i fill it all the up to the top till it pours out & sometimes i do . Anyway that could cause any problems?

 

From what I've read, topping it off will cause fuel to fill the charcoal canister. Personally, I fill till it clicks off, then round up to the next .00 or .05. OCD me thinks... Lol

 

Okay i top it off till its at the top where i can see it alot . So could that cause my problem?

You do know that there are two injection valves on a v6 correct?

Only one on a I4 engine.

 

Can't say it's caused *this* problem (maybe though) but it can cause problems.

Yes I replaced them both . Wonder why trac off light comes on with the engine light but on throws one code? P2443

 

After about 100 miles maybe more . Yes i reset it .

My 2012 with 148,000 started throwing the P2443 (valve stuck closed no limp mode) couple weeks ago, took it to the dealership hoping it would fall under the new TSB but that only applies for P2440& P2442(valve stuck open, ; limp mode) or if moisture found inside. I have been clearing the code, comes that every day or so hoping it will throw P2442 to no avail, am getting ready to replace the Valves myself per DYI valve swap post, now read your post and concerned, where did you buy your replacement valve?

 

OP, that code may be one that requires completion of an entire drive cycle for it to finally disappear. It did on mine but it was a pending code that took forever to clear. I'd like to hear more about whether you used OEM parts, replaced with new gaskets, etc.

 

Wow 2 years later and light is still there .
