I don't know why they did not use a no contact thermometer on the heater core's in and out hoses and possible a flow meter reading compared to a know good radiator ... JMO

Agreed! It's one of the quickest and cheapest steps. I suggested it weeks ago, not sure if the OP asked dealer to try it or not, I never heard back specifically.

To all of you thank you for following this very time long post ! I took my truck out for an extensive drive of 250 km Wednesday April 29 and everything was working as it should so my opinion at this moment in time is that it was the heater core again thank you for following this post .

WELL .... FINALLY !!!! A Few Comments if I may.....

First Congrats !!!! Also, I'd ask them to cut the core in half/quarters to find out what the issue was.... (or give it to you so you can ??) . If it was just blocked from coolant, crap, etc. ( not a foreign object left in the system when built (swarf, hose / hose cord crap), I'd be sure to , if they did not, to flush the system to ensure that the radiator is not in a similar condition. I usually flush my coolant with a flush chemical every few years. Some people call me crazy - but it's a LOT cheaper than a heater core.

And finally - that was poor troubleshooting on their part. An IR thermostat (or just your hand?) on the inlet and outlet hoses would have saved a lot of aggravation to all...

    Again Congrats !!!

The entire dash has to come off in order to change the heater core,a MAJOR job.
