M/T Shifter Boot

    Does this just happen to me? Anyone find a permanent fix? The tabs that allow a snap-into-place don’t hold anymore.

    I’d suggest removing the console, putting the boot back into the retaining tabs and either epoxy in place or use 3M 4200 or 5200 adhesive. Both adhesives are meant for the marine industry and will bond very well. 5200 is permanent, and they mean permanent.

    I think I even have some 5200 laying around from a past project. I LOVE that stuff - for permanent solutions of course.

    I’m guessing if I ever need to access this area again for shifter work or replacement, I’ll be removing the entire console (again).
