vF Tuner for the 3.5L Tacoma

@OVTune - Quick question. I am a registered user of vF Tune and today started playing around with the software. All good so far and wanted to get some clarification. I went to load the 'STOCK' 04B04 ECU .vft file and got the below prompt. My question is, if I unlock this ID, does 2.0 final have the same ID as the stock file? I assume when you 'unlock an ID' it means you are unlocking the ECU and have access to all future vft files *ONLY* for that ECU. (ID/Signature = ECU ID) If I buy more credits, it unlocks another Signature ID/ECU. Did I interpret that correctly?

yes once you unlock that ID you will have access to any 04B04 files
2.0 final will have the same 04B04, it's based on the ECU. it does not change

So, once I've unlocked 04B04 how do I go about obtaining the tune pack (existing OVTuned customer) for my ECU? All I have so far is the stock tune.
If it's just not out yet, that's fine, I just wasn't sure if I have to request it or how that works.

we will provide the tune packs to folks. it's not something that will be public.


Also, would love to hear any initial thoughts on the software!

on the next build (updates are free) it will come with a pretty handy shift calculator, for people who want to tune their own shifts.
you can take info from your truck
(tire size)
input gear
input the engine RPM you want it to shift at, at a certain throttle %
and it will give you the value to put into the map

My only initial criticism is that it installs at the root of the C, and gives no option to pick where it installs (sorry, pet peeve of mine after working in IT for years, LOL).
Software looks good, but I'll wait until I have a tune pack to mess with it some. My interest was in tweaking some of your tunes I already own, not starting from scratch with the stock tune, so I can patiently wait!

 

i have now downloaded vF from your site 2 more times and it is not giving me 1.0011, i keep getting 1.009 every time. I have confirmed by going into the details tab. It is a 20.8mB file, not 46.7

Will try uninstalling vF completely, downloading again from that link, and then seeing what happens. If it doesn't work, fuck it, I'm not allowed to have vF and I already have 2.0 final anyway

 

Try exiting your internet completely.

I just clicked that same link and it's 46.7mb

 

Try another browser. Chrome did that to me. Switched to Edge and it was fine.

disconnecting from the internet and restarting the laptop and then reattempting in chrome still didnt work. Using Edge for whatever reason did. now to reinstall
