    Hello all!

I just bought a 2019 off road with the longer bed. I'm considering putting a shell on the back to take dogs with on adventures and camping/skiing. I like the color match (Cavalry Blue) and side windows to vent. Any recommendations? Thanks!

Windoors make getting things out of the back easier, and a high or mid rise and carpet lined are nice options if you're going to be sleeping in it.

If you're going to be sleeping in it definitely a high or mid rise. I have a Leer 180cc and it has solid headroom, even with a sleeping platform built in the bed. They also come with the option to get the side window that swings up and open for access and also has the vents on them. Highly recommend.

Thanks! I don't plan on sleeping in it, just wanted to have more functional space to bring dogs with us (family of 4) and camping gear. :)

    ^^ This ^^

Leer, ARE and Snugtop all seem to be equal in build quality and are the primary top tier manufacturers. The websites should offer build simulators and will identify local dealers. If you're considering a roof rack, I highly recommend having it installed from the factory, or at a minimum, the tracks for a rack to mount to.

I would stick with the big three, Snugtop, Leer, A.R.E. Picking a great dealer/installer is really important, for warranty and a quality install.

I just ordered an ARE V series yesterday with minimal accessories. I would recommend you figure out what you want first accessory wise, then compare similar models and quotes between the big 3 brands

Windoors are a must. Crawling up in there to get stuff against the cab gets old quick and is also rough on the knees. I would also at least get the tracks on top so you can add a rack or load bars down the road. Carpeted interior isn’t a must, but definitely looks a lot better than raw fiberglass. I found most of my information about different shells on forums. I found that the companies websites are pretty terrible and the dealers don’t really know too much either.
