    So when would one want to disable trac and vsc? To floor it up a sand dune?

    TRAC and VSC can be a hindrance to forward momentum through torque limiting and brake actuation. If the situation calls for wheel speed then disabling them will help. Climbing a sand dune would be a good time to disable.

    This is the correct description of how this system works. The only thing I will add is that AUTO LSD and TRAC OFF reverts back to TRAC after a certain speed is reached. The huge problem is that Toyota does a very poor job of describing the system. I suspect once a description get through Legal it is all but worthless. Most everyone is confused by this system.
