I have a 2017 sport and have had it for well over 2 years with zero issues at all and have 41000 miles on it. just recently in the past month it has been shifting really weird, always wants to go into a lower gear and just doesn't feel smooth. everything I have read says the TSB is a waste. any ideas on what I should do?

In my experience TSB 0077-16 works very well on a 17 Tacoma and it’s free. I would start there and adjust tire pressure to 38-40 cold. Other option is to drop $700 bucks on aftermarket tune.

I agree, TSB 0077-16 will improve transmission performance in many cases.

+1 for transmission fluid check, seems like there might be an actual issue here

That really isn’t helpful since OP has an AT, right?

Yeah, but it's annoying as fuck though.

It's also laughable since in any MT thread it's filled with delete this, relearning how to drive a stick, can't back up a hill, squeaky noises from the pedals...

99% of his comments are like that. Surprised he is still here.

if you have 3 or 4 quarts low in the trans , Houston have problem but only one quarts doesn't matter.
sames in your engine 1 quarts low doesn't matter.

Atkinson cycle have more impact on behaviour of the rigs , don't forget it's a combo ,engine and trans.
ECU parameters focus on M.P.G ,sure T.S.B help but the 3.5 - V6 Tacoma ATKINSON CYCLE focus on M"P"G

Well, where else can he go?

In the real world, nobody cares if your vehicle has an MT, so when you join TW and can wear it on your sleeve it makes you feel special, I guess?

    Pretty sad actually...
