I know many here don't use developed CG's, but thought I would mention. KJDX out of Susanville stating these Forests so far are closing their developed CG's thru the end of April for now, so will see if it extends into normal camping season.

Sounds now like closures may apply to all CG's at least on the Plumas NF. Got a call back today, they are going to go around and lock restrooms. Guess I was lucky then to get a night in a couple weeks ago at Deanes Valley CG outside Quincy. I asked about dispersed camping, said did not have a answer for me.

Dispersed is ok. You can cut fire wood with out a permit up to the 30th of April

I'll head out for some firewood as soon as the snow from a couple weeks ago melts a little more, but we may get more snow this weekend, so may be the end of the month. Spotted some wood when the pup and I were camping at one CG a few weeks back. Still snow in my yard.

Anybody know the firewood plan in May? USFS offices still working from home. I spoke with their rec coordinator last week as I help run a private camp at Bucks, and she didn’t have an answer. I am thinking of getting some wood but wanted to be semi-legal at least...

You ever try calling the CA dept of transportation maintenance guy? Here they drop problem trees and put them somewhere safe for the public to chop up for firewood. They have some great firewood. Black oak sometimes.
