I hit some debris in the road the other day and whatever it was (probably metal or wire) it bounced up and mangled the wiring harness going to the tail lights. Some wires were flat out cut in half and some had the insulation stripped but otherwise were not cut. Thought I could just reconnect the wires (green to green, white to white, etc.) and I would be OK. Apparently not that simple. I have functioning turn signals, brake lights, and reverse lights, but cannot get the tail lights or tag lights to work. Checked the green wire leading to the tail light harness for voltage and there was none. If I couldn't trace the problem I was just going to run new wire from the yellow parking lights in the grill. Oddly, or maybe not, none of the yellow lights in the grill illuminate when I turn the headlight switch to the first position (I guess parking or running position). Also looked under the hood at the fuse box. Honestly, I don't see any fuse position that is specifically labeled tail lights. There's a tail/towing position, but it doesn't appear to have any electrical connections going to it, perhaps it was for a option that wasn't installed. I'm guessing one of the wires still covered with insulation was damaged and its just not apparent. Anyone have any possible suggestions?

    Thanks.
Found the second fuse box behind a little compartment that drops down. Tail light fuse was blown. Replaced fuse and tail lights functioning. Tag lights still out. checked bulbs and are OK. Is there a separate fuse for license plate lights?

Nope same fuse but the license plate light sockets are known for corroding if your in Winter Chemical state

As well as wires breaking and shorting
